The Morning Routine of A Homemaker

The Morning Routine of A Homemaker

Heart-check: Do you have a healthy morning routine as a homemaker?

The mornings of a homemaker can be the busiest and most overwhelming part of the day. It is the time when mothers, fathers, older sisters or brothers, or solo home owners have to prepare everything for the household before they head out to their respective commitments, may it be for work or school. Mornings can go from waking up at dawn before sunrise, preparing breakfast, and up until ensuring that everyone has their necessary needs for the day. The morning routine of a homemaker is indeed a responsibility and of course, quite a challenge, that in time becomes a healthy home routine.

Here is a walkthrough of a typical morning routine of a Filipino homemaker:

No Snooze!

A homemaker’s day usually begins at 5:00 AM, and some can wake up even without an alarm clock. In time, a homemaker’s body clock can wake him or her up naturally at that certain time.

Cleaning and Cooking for Everyone

After waking up, brushing teeth, and washing the face and such, now begins the busiest part of a homemaker’s morning routine. A homemaker prioritizes others before his or her self, so firstly, he or she makes sure that the kitchen is clean before preparing the household’s breakfast. Take for instance, for mothers. She first prepares tea or coffee for her husband, and milk for her kids. She then prepares the breakfast table with plates, glasses, and cutlery. Once the beverages are ready, a mother, or a homemaker in general, begins cooking breakfast.

Eggs are always first on the list of every home’s breakfast table, so you can either prepare scrambled eggs or an omelet with different fillings. A good homemaker also makes sure to include fresh fruits or vegetables in the family’s breakfast. While the breakfast is cooking, you can use the quick free time to pack lunch boxes for the children. Extra caring mothers usually prepare lunchboxes along with healthy and nutritious food like sandwiches, fruits, and freshly blended juice.

Bonding with the Family or Meditating Every Morning

In a typical Filipino family setting, breakfast mornings at the breakfast table are a time to bond with the family. It is important to have this time to bond with the family and catch up with them before they head out for work and school.

For solo and independent homeowners, mornings with a simple breakfast are also a time for them to meditate, read the Bible, plan out their day, and ponder on what will go on with work and leisure for the day until the sun sets.

After all the morning rush and taking care of the family as a homemaker, you can take a few minutes to relax. A quick rest, perhaps in the living room, can help you calm down and focus now on your tasks ahead.

Indeed, a good homemaker is one who prioritizes the family and others and then looks up after his or her own after settling the needs of the household.

Appreciate a homemaker today! May it be your mom, dad, a friend, or someone you know. If you are a homemaker yourself, then you deserve a pat on the shoulder for a job well done!
